Job & Literacy Program

A Language, Employment, Assessment and Development (LEAD) Training Program for the Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, DeafBlind, and Late-Deafened Community.

  Hands on activities

  Workshops

  Field trips

PROGRAM SCHEDULE:

Training classes run daily for 3 hours (from 9 AM to 12 PM), Monday through Friday. The program length ranges from 3 months to 2 years, with quarterly breaks.

OUR INSTRUCTORS:
  • Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing
  • Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experienced in training and instruction

CAN I JOIN?

We welcome Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing people who are either U.S. citizens or immigrants from foreign countries to join this program for a rich multicultural experience.

HOW TO APPLY:
  1. Contact your local Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) representative if you are a client. Contact Ann Lynn Parker if you are not a DOR client.
  2. Get DOR referral for the Job & Literacy Program.
  3. Take JLP assessments for your educational and vocational placement tests.
  4. Get authorization from DOR.
  5. Begin your training with Job & Literacy Program!
