[Video starts with an opening logo of DCARA with text that reads “Employment Services” fades into a blue background.]

[Video shows Michael typing in front of the computer in the office. A big white text “2020” appears and a second line of text appears that reads “(Beginning of COVID-19 pandemic)”. Michael disappears from the office and then appears in the home with a laptop on the table and a blue screen behind him. Looking confused, shrugging, and then starting to type.]

[Video gets blurred and a big white text appears that reads “Remote Jobs: Then and Now”.]

Hi.

That happened recently. Of course, I’m exaggerating but I feel like it happened recently!

I remember I was at work in the morning and suddenly, I went home for the rest of the day.

I remember that day, March 17th, 2020 (St. Patrick’s Day), they sent us home for the rest of the day. The COVID-19 pandemic had just impacting public health, so we transitioned from in-person services to virtual services.

Now I will share three slides, with links available below for further reading:

  1. How to be an effective remote worker.
  2. Examples of industries, careers, and job titles
  3. Watch out for scams and identity theft.

People often advertise remote work as easy work and good-paying but watch out and resist the scams. I will share the three slides with you. Ok?

Trabajos remotos: Ayer y Hoy
