Hello! For those who are currently receiving UI (Unemployment Insurance), there’s an update for you all! Congress recently passed and the President recently signed the third federal unemployment extension – adding $300 weekly enhancements that will last until September 2021.
Your claim should be automatically extended but I suggest you keep eyes open in case the UI Department contacts you either by mail or contacts you by inbox/email that requires your consent. You will need to respond, “Yes-I consent to continue extension” or “No-I decline extension.”
Also, I wanted to inform those who in the past had been receiving UI lately but stopped receiving recently – either due to no money or run out. It may be possible that you will be allowed to refile for UI. You can either refile for UI via phone or through your UI Online account.

The staff at the DCARA Employment Services have no access to any UI accounts. This means you will have to contact the UI department directly. I must warn you that the phone system is not really easily accessible. You will have to call the UI department at 8 in the morning until noon and noon to 8 pm. We strongly encourage you to keep calling. It is possible you will be put on hold and the call gets disconnected but keep calling. If you have a UI Online account, keep inboxing the UI Department.
