[START MESSAGE]
As of Friday, December 18th, San Francisco has imposed a mandatory quarantine of 10 days for anyone traveling, moving, returning in or out of San Francisco. The Mayor announced that anyone caught not following the mandatory quarantine may face fines or arrest.
SF already ordered its own stay-at-home health order back on December 4th due to surging cases and hospitals being overwhelmed.
The travel quarantine order, which started at 12:01 a.m. Friday, December 18th remains in effect until at least 12:01 a.m. January 4, 2021.
The following counties do not require travel quarantine:
San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, Sonoma, Napa, Marin, and Santa Cruz
However, if you enter SF from counties other than those listed above you must quarantine, so plan ahead!
Here are rules for people who have to quarantine:
Stay home and not physically interact with others outside their household for 10 days.
Not allowed to go to work, school, or any other place outside their home.
Should have food and other essential items delivered to them.
Again, SF’s 10-day quarantine travel order is mandatory!
There are special exemptions to the mandatory quarantine order which include: medical professionals, first responders, official government purposes, essential infrastructure work, and others, including any travel required by court order, like transferring custody of children. People who fly into San Francisco International Airport on connecting flights and not staying overnight in San Francisco are not required to quarantine.
STAY SAFE!
