[BEGIN TRANSCRIPT]

Taking all our shared experiences and instilling them in our heart, the expressions and stories that pour out are art. I grew up fascinated with various art forms, including sculptures, murals, painting, photography and so much more. On Friday August 14th at 3pm, I’m thrilled to welcome you to see a beautiful presentation from Brenda Schertz, as she gives a presentation on De’VIA arts, including the history, foundation, and the group of artists who created the De’VIA manifesto. Participants will learn about various motifs in Deaf art, Black Deaf artists, and resources you can use as you continue to learn long after the workshop is finished.
