[Content Description: 3:26 minutes vlog by Danielle Silk, an Ashkenazi Jewish woman with brown hair and green glasses. She is sitting on the floor in her living room with her two Boston Terries, Raya and Tavi. Raya is black and white and Tavi is red and white. There is a brown futon behind them with a bright green and blue blanket and two pillows. There are dog beds on the floor. Throughout the video Raya and Tavi move around and are given treats.]

TRANSCRIPT: Free Pet Food for East Bay Pet Owners

Hey! I’m a pet owner. I have some good news and hope that will cheer you up…

More and more people who were recently laid off or currently not working (work suspended) because of the coronavirus pandemic are now struggling to pay for food, to meet their needs and take care of their pets.

In an effort to make sure that no pets go hungry, the East Bay SPCA will hand out free pet food to dog and cat owners at a drive-thru for pet owners struggling with expenses due to COVID-19. When and where? This event will operate from:

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Friday, April 24, 2020
at East Bay SPCA
410 Hegenberger Road in Oakland

With gratefulness to companies such as Pet Food Express and Hill’s Pet Nutrition, they generously donate supplies of dry food for pets.

What’s cool about this free pet food program — a new drive-through contactless method.

What you will do:
You will drive up to a staff member.
(INFORM) Place an ‘order’ of how much of the cat or dog food you need.
Another team member fills the order.
They will wheel it on a cart to you (the driver); window down.
You will pick up the pre-bagged food right from your car window.
Limit: enough food for up to 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Make sure you arrive early to get in line and write on paper or use your mobile phone in big letters how many pets you have. Everyone must remain in their vehicles at all times. No walk-up clients can be accommodated for health and safety reasons.

Take care of your pets and yourself. Stay safe.
