Breaking News – Masks Required in 4 Counties

Amy Grindrod
April 18, 2020
Breaking & News Flash

BREAKING NEWS – the City of San Francisco now requires the use of face coverings!

This rule takes effect tonight at 11:59 pm on April 17, 2020. However, SF will not begin enforcing this until 8 am on April 22, 2020, to give you time to get your face coverings.

FACE MASK REQUIREMENT EFFECTIVE BY APRIL 22, 2020 FOR:
– San Francisco
– Contra Costa County
– Marin County
– Alameda County

After this time you can be fined for not complying with the mandate of wearing a face covering.

You must wear a face-covering when you are:

– Waiting in line to go inside a store
– Shopping at a store
– On public transportation, like MUNI, BART, or bus (or waiting for it)
– In a taxi or rideshare vehicle
– Seeking healthcare
– Going into facilities allowed to stay open, like government buildings
– Working an essential job that interacts with the public

If you are not wearing a face covering, you will not be allowed to enter a business or use public transportation.

You do not need to wear a face-covering if you’re driving yourself or with others in your family.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact DCARA via email at info@dcara.org or VP at 510-343-6670.

You can refer to DCARA’s video on making a mask on our website or on any of our social media platforms.
