Recently, Governor Gavin Newsom announced new financial protections for those financially impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. The Governor secured support from many banks, credit unions and mortgage companies to provide financial relief to many Californians. Examples of this include:

• 90-Day Grace Period for Mortgage Payments
• No Negative Credit Impacts Resulting from Relief
• Moratorium on Initiating Foreclosure, Sales or Evictions
• Relief from Fees and Charges

It is important to contact your bank, credit union or mortgage company to verify if you qualify or are eligible for this relief. It’s important that you know and understand that you will still be responsible to meet all financial liabilities. You will need to work this out with your financial institution.
