BREAKING NEWS: Sonoma County- Masks now REQUIRED!

Starting this Friday, April 17, 2020 at 12:01 AM, ALL residents who live in Sonoma County will be REQUIRED to wear facial coverings all time while out in public.

Q: What are facial coverings?
You can use masks or any kind of facial coverings such as scarves, bandanas, t-shirts, sweatshirts, towels, turtlenecks, or other fabric, can be sewn by hand, or factory-made, etc.

Q: What is the purpose of facial coverings?
Facial coverings help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. As of April 14, 2020 at 2:55 PM, Sonoma County has over 150 cases and 2 fatalities.

Q: Are facial coverings really REQUIRED?
Yes-Sonoma County’s health officer, Dr. Sundari Mase, states: “All persons shall wear facial coverings before they enter any indoor facility besides their residence, any enclosed open space, or while outdoors when the person is unable to maintain a six-foot distance from another person at all times.”

Q: I have seen other people not wearing masks or facial coverings. What if I refuse to use one?
You can be held responsible. The police will have a choice on whether to fine you or put you in jail or both.

Q: Must I wear facial coverings all day long?
No, not if you are driving alone or are at home with your family (household) members. You must use facial covering ONLY when you are out in public, including grocery stores, laundromats, outdoor work sites, buses, drive-through/curbside pick-up situations, farmers’ markets and while pumping gas. Facial coverings are REQUIRED doing these activities! Businesses will have the right to refuse service if you do not wear any facial coverings. People also can call the police on you if they see you without any facial coverings.
