Hello!  I’m Jim Brune.  I’m the new Executive Director at DCARA and I’m very excited about my 1st VLOG.  My goal is to post a new vlog every two weeks.  I’m excited about my new role as executive director and I look forward to writing a new chapter for DCARA considering the long history that DCARA has. 

My chapter includes the following:

•    Stability – making sure our relationships with the community and funders is intact.
•    Fundraising, fundraising, fundraising.  We really need to beef up our fundraising.
•    Third, I want to bring DCARA to 50th anniversary and that will be in 4 years.  It will come quickly. 
•    And many other exciting adventures going forward.

That is all exciting but at the same time, we have a long, hard road ahead of us.  The California state budget has not yet passed and we are now over 100 days into the new fiscal year.  DCARA continues to provide services but we’re have not been reimbursed.   Secondly, the current political and financial climate is not in great shape.  That means, going forward, a lot of hard work.   However, I have full confidence in our team.  Our staff is dedicated to providing high quality services.  Our board is dedicated to ensuring DCARA’s success.  I want to share with you that I have an open door policy and anytime that you have ideas, suggestions, or concerns regarding DCARA, please feel free to contact me.  You can reach me by videophone (VP) or email.  My VP number is 510.483.7054 and my e-mail address is jim.brune@dcara.org.
